Erasmus + Coopération Internationale : Kazatu, Astana du Kazakhstan était à l’ESA Angers

Du 22 au 26 octobre nous avons eu le plaisir d’accueillir Altynay ABDUGAMITOVA, professeur de Kazatu spécialiste en sciences du lait parmi notre groupe de recherche en agroalimentaire sur les produits et les procédés (GRAPPE). Une semaine ponctuée d’évènements tels que le SIAL à Paris ou encore la célébration des 120 ans de l’ESA.

Altynay a pu assister à de nombreux travaux pratiques menés par nos étudiants en 4^e année du cycle ingénieur agronome spécialisé en transformation et qualité des produits agroalimentaires. Emmanuel Madieta, enseignant-chercheur en physique a pu lui présenter nos différentes techniques en termes de transformation et d’analyse des produits. En particulier, la méthodologie d’analyse sensorielle et son utilisation pédagogique a été une découverte pour elle. Elle a pu apprécier comment analyser le produit sous l’angle organoleptique en répondant à des questions sur la texture, l’odeur, la couleur… La pédagogie a également été très différente pour Altynay qui  a analysé les avantages du travail en petit groupe de 5-6 étudiants, et qui a pu juger de son efficacité en termes d’apprentissage. Elle a aussi participé à l’analyse de la texture de deux variétés de pommes locales avec Philippe Mongondry, Responsable du Master FOOD IDENTITY et enseignant-chercheur.

Le Salon International de l’Alimentation à Paris a été une très belle opportunité pour récolter de nombreuses informations pour ses étudiants au Kazakhstan sur différents produits comme le fromage ou la viande mais également plusieurs contacts d’entreprises potentiellement intéressés par l’accueil d’étudiants kazakhs dans le cadre de stage.

Cette semaine riche en informations s’est soldée par une présentation du Kazakhstan et de Kazatu auprès de nos étudiants en IM1  et sa participation à une soirée organisée pour fêter nos 120 ans d’histoire avec l’inauguration d’un nouveau centre de langues et d’une maison de vie pour nos étudiants : la Villa Loyola.

Actuellement, 8 étudiants de Kazatu sont en train de suivre notre 4^ème année du cycle ingénieur répartis sur 3 spécialisations : Marchés Internationaux des produits agricoles, Transformation Alimentation Qualité, Systèmes d’élevage. Les étudiants de la spécialisation Marchés Internationaux ont eu l’opportunité d’effectuer un voyage d’études aux Pays-Bas, et ceux en agroalimentaire ont passé 3 journées au Centre d’expérimentation et de Technologie Alimentaire du Groupe Saint Antoine de St Exupéry à Rennes. Les enseignements sont dispensés uniquement en français. En février prochain, nous aurons le plaisir d’accueillir 5 nouveaux étudiants pour suivre le second semestre de la licence VITAL sur la valorisation alimentaire et les produits traditionnels.

Pour finir, en avril 2019 nous serons heureux d’accueillir une autre collègue Kazakh, professeur de français, pour la dernière mobilité enseignante de notre projet financé par la Commission Européenne. Cette semaine de formation se déroulera au sein de notre nouveau centre de langues afin de partager nos différentes approches pédagogique lors de l’apprentissage d’une langue étrangère.

International cooperation Erasmus+: Kazatu from Astana – Kazakhstan was at ESA Angers

We were really pleased to welcome Altynay ABDUGAMITOVA, junior lecturer in milk sciences in our research group specialized in food products and processes (GRAPPE, French name) from the 22^nd to the 26^th of October.  It was an eventful week event featuring, among other things, the SIAL exhibition and the celebration of the 120^th anniversary of our school.

Altynay took part in numerous projects piloted by our 4^th year students specialized in food processing. Emmanuel Madieta, teacher-researcher in physics showed Altynay our different techniques in food product transformation and analysis. The discovery of sensory analysis was particularly interesting for her.  She was able to appreciate how to analyze a product from the organoleptic angle by answering questions about texture, smell, color… The pedagogy has also been really different for Altynay who observed the advantage of working in small group of 5-6 students, and noticed the great efficiency it can have for students when learning. She also took part in classes led by Philippe Mongondry, Head of the Food Identity Master and teacher-researcher, where they analyzed the texture of 2 different kinds of apple.

The SIAL exhibition has been a good occasion to collect a lot of information for her students in Kazakhstan about cheese and meat products. And Altynay also made fruitful business contacts who are potentially interested in welcoming Kazakh students for internships.

This intense week full of new information has ended by a presentation of Kazakhstan and Kazatu to our 4^th year students. Altynay also attended a gala evening organized for the 120^thanniversary of our school and the inauguration of a new Language Center and student facility:  the Loyola Villa.

Currently, 8 students from Kazatu are in the 4th year divided among 3 specializations out of 6 offered: International Trade of Agricultural Products, Food Processing and Animal Production. Students in International Trade had the opportunity to go to The Netherlands for a study trip and those in Food Processing spent 3 days in the Food Processing Experimental Center in Rennes. Courses are only taught in French. Next February, we will be really pleased to welcome 5 new students who will attend the second semester of the bachelor degree specialized in “Local Food products: development, innovation and transformation”.

Finally, in April 2019, we will be delighted to welcome another Kazakh colleague from Kazatu, a French teacher, for our last teacher mobility of our MIC project financed by the European Commission. This training week will take place in our new Language Center with view to sharing different pedagogical methods when teaching a foreign language to our students.
